Dr.-Ing. Loucas Papadakis

PhD Supervisor & Associate Professor, Frederick University

Dr.-Ing. Loucas Papadakis is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Frederick University and an expert in advanced manufacturing, engineering design, and additive manufacturing technologies. He obtained both his Diploma and Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering from the Technical University of Munich (TUM), Germany.

His research focuses on additive manufacturing, lightweight structures, computational analysis, and manufacturing optimisation. Dr. Papadakis has participated in several European research collaborations and has extensive experience supervising graduate and postgraduate research in advanced manufacturing and 3D printing technologies.

Mr. Antonis Kountouris

Industrial Supervisor & Head of R&D, NKMC

Mr. Antonis Kountouris is a researcher and industrial innovation specialist with extensive experience in sustainable construction materials and thermal insulation systems. He currently leads the Research and Development Department of Nicolaides & Kountouris Metal Company (NKMC), where he has coordinated multiple innovative projects focused on recycling polymeric waste materials and developing eco-friendly construction solutions.

He holds degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens and the University of Cyprus and is currently pursuing a PhD focused on thermal insulating materials from polymeric waste. His work bridges industrial innovation, sustainable manufacturing, and applied research.

Mr. Gbenga Festus Kadiri

Gbenga Festus Kadiri

Gbenga Festus Kadiri is a mechanical and industrial maintenance engineer and a junior researcher specializing in product design, advanced manufacturing, and materials science. He holds a National Diploma in Industrial Maintenance Engineering from Yaba College of Technology, Nigeria, and a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from Frederick University, Cyprus.

He is currently pursuing a PhD, with research focused on sustainable manufacturing, bio-based composites, 3D printing technologies, computational modeling, and life-cycle assessment. His doctoral work builds on his earlier investigations into the mechanical response and thermal characteristics of PLA bio-composites, reinforcing his commitment to environmentally responsible engineering solutions.

Dr. Maria Rikkou-Kalourkoti

Academic Advisory Board Member

Dr. Maria Rikkou-Kalourkoti is an Assistant Professor and Vice-Chairperson of the Department of Pharmacy at Frederick University, with expertise in polymer science and material characterisation. She holds a B.Sc. in Chemistry and a PhD in Polymer Science from the University of Cyprus.

Her research interests include the synthesis and characterisation of advanced polymeric materials and networks using modern polymerisation techniques. Her expertise in polymer science and material analysis contributes significantly to the scientific foundation of the BioCoLiDe project.
